Ten songs I heard on the radio while donated blood this afternoon:
- Bob Seger - Old Time Rock and Roll
- Lifehouse - You and Me
- Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten
- Daughtry - Life After You
- George Benson - On Broadway
- KT Tunstall - Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
- David Cook - The Time of My Life
- Rod Stewart - Maggie May
- Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape
- Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved
Strictly speaking, what I donated today was not blood per se but red blood cells. It's called erythrocytapheresis: blood is drawn from my veins and fed through a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells; the remaining blood (mostly plasma, but also leukocytes, platelets, stem cells, and lipids) is pumped back into me, along with a bit of saline . Then they do it again, so they end up with two units of red blood cells. Fun!
