Ten random things: June 18

Ten Beatles songs mentioned, quoted, or otherwise alluded to in the novel The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg:

  1. "Lovely Rita"
  2. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
  3. "Penny Lane"
  4. "Yellow Submarine"
  5. "Revolution"
  6. "Help!"
  7. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"
  8. "Come Together"
  9. "Getting Better"
  10. "Yesterday"

I picked up this novel because I liked the Abbey Road homage on the cover. Rather stupidly, I didn't realize just how Beatles-intensive it was until I started reading, despite it being named after one Beatles song and quoting a second in huge type in the front flap. Pure dead brilliant, I am.

Anyway, I'm about halfway through the book, and so far it's pretty good. A little predictable, perhaps, but it's not my first teen romantic comedy. Man, Lori was right, I am kind of a girl.
