A bunch of random things: November 1

Thirty-one songs I listened to driving back to Wisconsin from Illinois yesterday:

  1. The Procession - Major & Minor
  2. Girlyman - St. Peter's Bones
  3. Ben Folds Five - Underground
  4. Ben Folds Five - Narcolepsy
  5. Brian Setzer Orchestra - Jump, Jive and Wail
  6. Carmen McRae - You Took Advantage of Me
  7. Neko Case - The Needle Has Landed
  8. XTC - Respectable Street
  9. James Brown - Living in America
  10. The Blasters - Marie, Marie
  11. Bourgeois Tagg - I Don't Mind At All
  12. Robert Cray - Steppin' Out
  13. John Mayer feat. Taylor Swift - Half of My Heart
  14. The Five Americans - Western Union
  15. The Bens - Just Pretend
  16. The Beatles - Happiness Is a Warm Gun
  17. Aretha Franklin - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman
  18. Killing Joke - Eighties
  19. Sufjan Stevens - Let's Hear That String Part Again, Because I Don't Think They Heard It All the Way Out in Bushnell
  20. XTC - The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead
  21. David Bowie - Suffragette City
  22. Chris Clouse - Mona Lisa
  23. Ryan Adams - Now That You're Gone
  24. The Beatles - I Call Your Name
  25. Kate Nash - Kiss That Grrrl
  26. The Beatles - I Want to Tell You
  27. The Posies - Dream All Day
  28. XTC - King for a Day
  29. Ben Folds - Still
  30. Ben Folds Five - Battle of Who Could Care Less
  31. A. C. Newman - Miracle Drug

The most surprising thing about this is that there are no New Pornographers songs, unless you count the ones by Neko Case and A. C. Newman. I definitely have more songs by them on my MP3 player than by XTC, so it's odd that I ended up hearing three songs by the latter and none by the former. Oh well, thus is the nature of randomness.
