Travel diary IV: Greetings from Newark

Well, here I am in Newark, New Jersey. Because what better way to get from DC to Wisconsin than to stop in New Jersey on the way? Welcome to hub-and-spoke air travel, Continental Airlines-style.

Newark doesn't have much of a reputation, but it does have a pretty nice airport. It's much better than the last out-of-town airport I visited, Houston Intercontinental. Also, there are fewer statues of George Bush, which can only be a good thing.

It's big, too; my departure gate was several miles away from my arrival gate. At least I didn't have to sprint through the terminal in an ultimately fruitless atempt to reach it in time, like that one time in St. Louis.
