Ten random things: February 23

Ten stories in which Nicholas Courtney portrayed the Brigadier:

  1. The Three Companions (Big Finish Productions audio drama)
  2. Terror of the Zygons (Doctor Who, season 13)
  3. Colony in Space (Doctor Who, season 8)
  4. The Web of Fear (Doctor Who, season 5)
  5. Invasion of the Bane (The Sarah Jane Adventures)
  6. Death Comes to Time (BBCi webcast)
  7. Zagreus (Big Finish Productions audio drama)
  8. The Three Doctors (Doctor Who, season 10)
  9. Spearhead from Space (Doctor Who, season 7)
  10. The Time Warrior (Doctor Who, season 11)

Yesterday brought word of another death of geekish interest: British actor Nicholas Courtney, who played Brigadier Sir Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart in 104 episodes of Doctor Who spanning 21 years and five regenerations. That's not to mention the 30th anniversary special Dimensions in Time, an episode of the Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures, and sixteen audio dramas. He appeared in more serials as a guest star than many people did as series regulars. I regret that Courtney was unable to reprise the role in the new series, but it was nice seeing him turn up on The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Edited Feb. 24 to correct a stupid error on my someone's part.
