Customer service update

I finally went back to CVS to pick up my film from the wedding. I handed the claim check to the clerk. She fetched the photos and returned to her register to ring them up. She paused, then turned to another clerk. "Did you write this on here?" she asked. Receiving an affirmative response, she handed the pictures to me and told me there was no charge.

My initial assumption was that they had not charged me because they had not delivered on their guarantee of one-hour developing. But then I opened the package and discovered that in fact they had not charged me because their defective photo processing maching had ruined my film. Bah.
