|Threat rating: High. The Bush administration is concerned that it may not get a second term. Therefore, we are going to change the rules so that each Democrat vote only counts as 0.2 votes because Democrat is a shorter word than Republican|
What threat to the Bush administration are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
This is true! I'm not convinced the Democrats really pose much of a threat to President Bush's re-election effort, but time will tell.
And just for fun, the Friday Five:
1. Do you remember your first best friend? Who was it?
That would be Russell Lohse. He and I were in the same kindergarten class and watched the same television shows. He lived about two blocks away, so we saw a lot of each other. He was one of only two people I knew who lived in a two-story house. I thought that was pretty cool.
2. Are you still in touch with this person?
I am not. He and his family moved to Colorado following third grade, and we lost touch.
3. Do you have a current close friend?
My closest friend without a doubt is Lori, who journals under the name tivogoddess.
4. How did you become friends with this person?
We both Placemats, which is to say we were active participants on the Melrose Place bulletin board on AOL. She called me one day to invite me to a Grateful Dead concert. I wasn't able to go, but we continued to talk on the phone occasionally after that, and eventually we (and two other DC-area Placemats) got together for dinner in February 1995. And it progressed from there.
5. Is there a friend from your past that you wish you were still in contact with? Why?
There are a lot of people with whom I've lost touch I'd like to see and talk to, just to see how the years have treated them -- like Russell, for example -- but in most of those cases it's hard to know whether we still have enough in common to want to stay in contact with them afterwards. But there are several people I was close friends with in college whom I should get back in touch with. I'll try to do that this weekend.
I think I'll also try to get in touch with Russell. I Googled his name, and I'm 90% one of the results is the person I knew from grade school, so it shouldn't be too hard to find an e-mail address for him.
