On the posting of poetry

Yesterday I posted links to the poems I have in my pocket, which prompted catko to say she hoped I would go back to my weekly poem posts, which she said she loved. And I liked them too! But for now I'm not going to go back to regularly scheduled weekly poetry posts.

As I mentioned earlier this year, I made a resolution to post to my LiveJournal every day this year, and implicit in that resolution, I think, is that the posts I make should be, shall we say, mindful. I mean, it's be easy to post every day if I just posted YouTube videos or cat pictures or what have you, but that's not what I wanted to do, because that can become a rote exercise pretty quickly. If I post a poem, or a video, or a cat picture, I want it to be because on that day I made an affirmative choice to post it. There were definitely times during the period when I posted a poem every Saturday when I did it out of a sense of obligation, not because I had any particular desire to share a poem. And I want to avoid that.

But since catko said she likes reading poems, and because I'm a little LiveJournaled out right now, Fridays being the day I do the review roundups for community_tv, here are some links to poems I posted in the past that she may not have seen, having been posted before she joined LJ.
