The reunion was, while not exciting, fun in its way. There were a lot of vaguely familiar-looking people there whose names I couldn't remember. Hey, it's a big family! And even when I lived in Illinois, I didn't see them very often. Also, I have a bad memory for remembering faces and names, or more precisely for remembering which face goes with which name. Nevertheless, it was nice to see some of my more distant relations.
The weather ranged from unpleasant to really unpleasant. For the most part, it was merely hot and humid, but for a short time on Sunday morning -- coinciding, naturally, with our departure from the motel and the drive to the reunion -- we experienced a torrential downpour. The wind was blowing so hard that I got wet even under the carport in front of the motel. Fun!
