Dateline: Bakersfield

After three days in the wilderness, I've returned to civilization, or at least what passes for civilization in the Central Valley, a region for which the term "God-forsaken" must surely have been coined to describe. I've only been here for a few hours, but I already loathe almost everything about it. More on that later.

Likewise, a detailed report on what I did at Lake Tahoe and the national parks, and the uploading of my photos, will have to wait. Suffice it to say that for the most part I had a really good time. Tomorrow, I head back to the Los Angeles area, and then home. I'm ready for it.
