Songs about ships

Last week, the A.V. Club published an inventory of nine songs about specific ships. I had Spotify open when I read it, so I threw together a quick playlist containing all the songs in the list. But nine songs, that's not very many, so I took a risk and started reading through the comments. Whenever someone puts a list of things on the Internet, you can be sure that the comment section will be chock-a-block with readers griping about something that was left off the list. And while Internet comment sections are usually wretched hives of scum and villainy, the A.V. Club's tends to be better than most. Ultimately, I found enough suggestions to add another 16 songs to the playlist.

This turned out to be an immensely clever thing for me to do, because it ended up introducing me to two incredible songs I'd never heard before. One was by beloved Canadian folksinger Stan Rogers, whom I'd heard of but never actually heard; the other by Josh Ritter, whom I often get confused with Joshua Radin. And here they are, for your own listening pleasure!
