I've been watching a lot of romantic comedies lately. My Twitter pals @notajenny and @elspunko and a couple of their Twitter pals recently posted lists of their favorite romantic comedies. I'd seen a lot of their favorites, but there were a few that I hadn't seen, and since I could tell based on the ones I had seen that they had pretty good taste in romantic comedies, I decided I may as well let them guide my movie watching for a while. This poem reminded me of a couple of those films I've seen recently. In the films, the other person eventually came around, but in my experience it doesn't generally happen that way in real life.
The Primer
She said, I love you.
He said, Nothing.
(As if there were just one
of each word and the one
who used it, used it up).
In the history of language
the first obscenity was silence.
