Art on Saturday: Portrait of Antonio Vivaldi

Every yar during Advent, my church choir presents a major work celebrating the season during a Sunday worship service. This year, we're doing selections from Vivaldi's Gloria, which I may or may not have sung before. I don't remember singing it, but the first movement was undeniably familiar to me when we started rehearsing it this last Thursday. Yeah, we're already rehearsing Christmas music. October is when you start planning for Christmas, and has been for decades, so keep your complaints about seeing Christmas stuff in stores already to yourself.

Anyway, in honor of Signor Vivaldi and his glorious Gloria, here's a portrait commonly held to be of the composer.
