I took that Do You Know Your Music quiz, and it turns out that yes, I do know my music, and that I should be able to work at Championship Vinyl with Rob, Dick and Barry. And to prove it, I'll point out that the quiz contains a mistake of monstrous proportions. Consider the tenth question:
What was the name of the Beatles' double album?
- White Album
- Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts
- Yellow Submarine
- Definately Maybe
The correct answer, as any Beatles fan can tell you, is "none of the above." The White Album was a double album, but the name of that album was not the White Album. The actual name of that album was The Beatles.
Anyway, I answered thirteen of the fourteen questions correctly, though I think the last question ("Which was the first band to appear as part of the so-called New Rock Revolution?") is phrased so ambiguously that it's unclear to me what the right answer is supposed to be. I think the answer is supposed to be the Hives, but you could make a reasonably compelling case for the Strokes. Since the quiz author didn't deign to supply the answers, we may never know.
Speaking of music, the recording sessions proceed apace. Last night's session was fairly productive; the chorus put down four songs, and the brass ensemble recorded a fifth. Recording continues tonight and tomorrow. I think it's going well, but the late nights are getting to me. And tonight is the worst of them; the chamber choir is recording its two songs tonight, and we may be at it as late as midnight. Guh.
Oh, and while I'm think of it, I uploaded more new icons. And here they are:
The first one is for posts about classical music; the second, pop music; and the third, books. I'm not convinced I really need two music icons, but I couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I uploaded both.
