52 (and a little bit of a 53rd) weeks in the life

A year ago today, I posted a song on Facebook, and tagged it #1st. The next day, a different song but the same tag, and again and again until one day I started using the tag #2nd, and then #3rd, #4th, and so on. I offered no explanation for this, but a couple of people figured it out before I revealed what I was doing. Here's the post that explained it:

Today is my 52nd birthday! Or to put it another way, it's the first day of my #53rd year of life. And if that's not big enough a clue ...

There are 52 weeks, or more precisely 52 sennights, in a calendar year, plus a few days of a 53rd at the tail end; today marks the start of my 53rd year of life. So each seven-day week this year, I've been posting songs released during the corresponding year of my life. On Wednesday, January 1, I posted "Hey Jude" by the Beatles, originally released during the first year of my life, defined as 16 April 1968 - 15 April 1969. The following Wednesday, i.e. the second seven-day week of the year, I started posting songs released between 16 April 1969 and 15 April 1970, i.e the second year of my life. And so on. On the last two days of the year, I'll post songs released this year.

As for the songs themselves, there's no significance to them other than that I like them and they were released in a certain year. I've tried to avoid duplicating songs I posted during the year I posted 80s songs, but some duplication is necessary. I mean, I'm not going to pass up an opportunity to post "Twisting by the Pool."

Here's the full list of songs I posted, broken out by year of life.  I'll put them behind an lj-cut if I can remember how.
