Remember how last week I mentioned that I'd been sent home early because of contract issues? Well, they continue. I'm not really in a position to say much about it, but here's the situation in a nutshell: the old contract is out of money, the new contract hasn't been approved yet, and therefore my client is unable to pay my employer for my services. And it's illegal to work for the Federal government for free, so until the new contract is finished, I'm sort of in limbo.

Limbo, as it happens, is not an altogether unpleasant place to be. I had my teeth cleaned early this morning. Later, I took advantage of my proximity to the central business district and the nice weather to walk downtown and run some errands. I had to get a new vehicle sticker at Town Hall, and I stopped at the county building on the way to pay my personal property tax bill. And I got a haircut. Whee! Oh, and I went to the post office to pick up my Morning Improv Limited Edition Print. Number 11 of 100, baby! Double whee!

Tomorrow it's back to work, sort of. I have to report to corporate headquarters to do, um, something. My boss will find something productive for me to do, probably. Just as well, I was running out of things to do around here anyway.
