Anyway. I realized this morning that I have a concert that same weekend. I'm not required to sing that concert -- in fact, in my two previous seasons with the chorus, I did not sing the first subscription concert -- but I'd like to, and I've already bought and paid for (and started marking up) the music. I mean, it's only 30 bucks, but still, it's the principle of the thing.
There's another reason I'd rather not skip the concert, bur it's kind of lame. We have two different concerts in October: Carmina Burana at the beginning of the month, and one that conflicts with Homecoming, hereafter referred to as the baroque concert. We're preparing for both concerts simultaneously. The first half of the rehearsal, from 7:30 PM to 8:45 PM, is devoted to the baroque concert; the second half, from 9 PM to 10:15 PM, to Carmina Burana. If I choose not to do the barouque concert, that means I must either a) go fetch my car from the Park and Ride lot and drive back to the city for the Carmina practice, or b) hang out at the Cathedral or elsewhere in the city killing time until 9. Either way, that's a lot of time to kill. Perparing for the baroque concert gives me something to do.
I'll have to give this one some seriosu thought. I wish I'd noticed the conflict earlier.
