Stuff and stuff

Man, the National Gallery web site is harshing my gig. Stupid internal server errors.

So, I watched Serendipity tonight, which I sort of wanted to see when it was in theatres a few years ago but somehow never got around to. And you know, it was pretty good. Not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, but not bad. I fnd it hard to dislike a John Cusack movie, especially a John Cusack romantic comedy. (Though not impossible: America's Sweethearts was pretty much unredeemingly awful.) But the best part of the movie may have been Eugene Levy's brief appearance as a Bloomingdale's salesman.

Jeremy Piven was good too, which reminds me: wouldn't it be great to have Cupid available on DVD? I'd buy it.

Poet's Corner: Morning Song of Senlin

From here on out, I'm only going to post lists of ten things on weekdays. Please, try to contain your grief and rage.

Starting today, I'll post a favorite poem or short story or some other short work of literature on Saturdays. Today I'm featuring a work by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Conrad Aiken. If you have some Madeira wine on hand, you may want to have a glass while you read it. fox1013, I think you will find part of this poem particularly interesting.

Tune in tomorrow to see what I have planned for Sundays.

The past and the future

If anyone cares, I've added all my previous poetry posts to my memories. Even disregarding the 38 poems I posted during the 2003 Christmas season, it turns out I've posted quite a few poems and song lyrics over the years: fifteen in all, including the one I posted this morning. How literary of me!

By the way, if some creative person out there wants to try his or her hand at making me an icon for my poetry posts, I'd be much obliged.

In other news, I've been informed by a reliable source that at some point in the future, I will live in a mansion, drive a white 1955 Benz SL300 Gullwing Coupe, marry Kate Beckinsale and have 9 kids, and be an author living in Lucerne, Switzerland. Make a note of it.

Nerd test!

Ganked from rensong:

I am nerdier than 46% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

I can accept that, though I think I deserve bonus points for taking the quiz on a Saturday night while watching a Futurama rerun.
