April Madness

Boy, this business of following the NCAA men's basketball tournament is trickier than I thought. When George Mason lost last night, I immediately transfered my loyalties to LSU. See, LSU beat Duke in the regional semifinals, and Duke is the arch-rival of University of North Carolina, which was one of the teams I had chosen to support way back at the beginning of the tournament. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right? So, LSU it was. And then they got beat by UCLA, leaving me with no obvious choice to root for in the championship game.

Having given it considerable thought, I've determined that I should root for UCLA, because Florida has those giant flying cockroaches all over the place. Man, those things are gross.

I was re-reading Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods (his best work, if you ask me) this afternoon, and ran across a reference to this painting, and decided to check it out. Pretty nice, if you ask me.
