  5. Chicago (Terry Kath died 1978; surviving members continued under same name)
  6. Sublime (Brad Nowell died 1996; surviving members formed Long Beach Dub All-Stars)
  7. AC/DC (Bon Scott died 1980; surviving members a new singer and continued under same name)
  8. No Doubt (Jon Spence died 1987; surviving members continued under same name)
  9. Lynyrd Skynyrd (Ronnie Van Zandt died 1977; several surviving members formed the Rossington Collins Band and later reformed Lynyrd Skynyrd)
