First the good news: I found my camera. At last, our long national nightmare is over! This is particularly good news for par_avion, for reasons that will be made clear on Thursday.
The bad news is that I apparently misled you the other day when I posted about next Saturday's Loudoun Chorale performance. I said we'd be singing Thompson's Frostiana and Alice Parker's setting of Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal, which to some degree is true. But we're not performing all of Frostiana, and we're doing other stuff as well. Here is the actual program:
- Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal
- "The Lord is My Shepherd" (from John Leavitt's Requiem)
- "The Road Not Taken"
- "A Girl's Garden"
- "The Pasture"
- "Choose Something Like a Star"
- My Life Flows On
Sorry about that.
If you happen to be in the Washington, D.C., area, and you have the means to make it out to Loudoun County, and you want to see the show, we're performing on Saturday, October 2, at 1 PM and 3 PM at the old John Wesley AME Church. Directions and such can be found here.
The promised Fall television reviews post is on hold until I watch the premiere of Veronica Mars, which is being TiVoed as I type this.
