Artistic Advent: The Adoration of the Shepherds

The Adoration of the Shepherds
Giorgione (1477/1478–1510)
oil on panel
The Adoration of the Shepherds
National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.

The National Gallery attributes this painting to the influential Venetian artist Giorgione, but some scholars believe it to be the work of Titian or Giovanni Bellini. Regardless, it's a very nice painting. I encourage you to look at the detail images at the National Gallery web site; there's a lot of amazing detail in this painting that deserves a closer look.
