Ten random things: February 28

Ten things I've been told not to do by musicians:

  1. Shed a tear
  2. Waste my heart
  3. Stop
  4. Pull my love
  5. Ask Billy Joel why
  6. Look back in anger
  7. Wait too long
  8. Be cruel
  9. Talk to strangers
  10. Let James Taylor be lonely tonight

I was only going by the titles, so your no. 11 is the same as my no. 3.

I have similarly been warned against performing or continuing these acts:

1. Tell Jack Blades (from Night Ranger) I love him
2. Say never (oop, I just did, and I was warned never to do it. Ack! I did it again!)
3. Rock Fountains of Wayne tonight
4. Stand in the shadows
5. Go
6. Use sex as a weapon
7. Be a dropout
8. Answer Alan Parsons
9. Rollerskate in a buffalo herd (not so much a forbidden act per se, as that the gauntlet has been thrown down)
10. Touch Brak

Don't go away mad, John. (Just go away.)

Aw, man, don't cry out loud! I was only kidding.

Not to let the sun go down on Elton John
Speak (by No Doubt)

And was it Petula Clark who told us not to wait in the subway?

Re: Also
Petula warned us about sleeping on the subway. Presumably waiting is acceptable, so long as you stay awake while doing so.
