Covers!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince covers, that is! I'm not wild about the British covers—Harry kind of looks like a doofus on the child cover, and the adult cover is just boring—but I really like the American cover. As you might be able to tell from my new icon. Good thing I live in the United States.

By the way, just in case there was any doubt, let me make it perfectly clear right now that if Harry and Susan Bones are in any way involved in HBP, you're never going to hear the end of it.

See, I always prefer the UK covers to the American ones, and the books inside those covers. I'm a Potter snob. :p

Well, you're entitled to believe that, even though your beliefs (in the case of the covers at least) are clearly flawed. :-)

I'd agree that what's inside the UK versions (and the Canadian) is preferrable. And when it comes to the art, I've always preferred the UK Harry (who just looks like an English teenager to me, whereas the US one gives off this total emo vibe...) But for Order of the Pheonix the US cover was significantly better than the fugly UK version with the hideous bright red and yellow colouring and that stupid bird picture. That being said, I think that this time around both the UK and US versions are equally ugly - I don't like any of them, kid or adult versions.

I still like the OotP UK version better. The colours really were kind of awful, but I dunno. Familiarity I guess?

Me too (but I wasn't aware that there was an "adult" version of HP books in the UK. Talk about "insert joke here"! Yes, I'm 12).

I do think the UK Dumbledore for HBP looks kind of high.

The American cover has that sickly green look to it that makes it all mysterious.
if Harry and Susan Bones are in any way involved in HBP, you're never going to hear the end of it. Assuming crash position now.

Eh, I'll probably still order the UK kids version, because I like the content better. I read enough BritLit to know all the slang used and I find it's more fun to read the stories that way. Thanks for posting the covers, John.

--He really does, I bursted out with the laughter.

and the adult cover is just boring
--That one was my favourite. I liked the book.
