And another thing

I remembered another little mistake from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: in the scene where Harry, Hermione, and Ron speak with Luna after leaving the hospital wing, Luna hands Ron, among other things, something that looks like a green onion. A few paragraphs later, she takes everything back, including the green onion. And a few paragraphs after that, Ron holds up the green onion and asks Luna what it is. She says it's a gurdyroot (or something like that; I don't have the book handy) and says he can keep it. But how could he hold it up if she'd already taken away from him? It's a mystery, though I suppose Luna knows of some mysterious creature that does exactly that sort of thing.
