- Watch President Bush light the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse
- See the Dance Institute of Washington's Spirit of Kwanzaa Celebration at the Kennedy Center
- Attend the Cathedral Choral Society's Joy of Christmas concert at Washington National Cathedral
- Ride with Santa on a streetcar at the National Capital Trolley Museum in Silver Spring
- Participate in the Messiah sing-along at the Clarendon United Methodist Church in Arlington
- Take a child to the Chanukah Celebration at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington in Rockville
- Make your own holiday potpouri at the Claude Moore Colonial Farm in McLean
- Come to the 11 PM Christmas Eve service at Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford and hear jheaton sing in the choir and read the liturgy
- Drive through the grounds of the Mormon Temple in Kensington to see the Christmas lights
hcwoodward wanted to see christmas lights mentioned in a list, which made me think of the elaborate display of lights put up each year at the Mormon Temple in Kensington. It's well worth a visit, if you happen to be in the area.
