Ten random things: Reader Request Month, day 56

Ten things to do this holiday season in the Washington, D.C., area:

  1. Take a candlelight tour of Mount Vernon
  2. Watch President Bush light the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse
  3. See the Dance Institute of Washington's Spirit of Kwanzaa Celebration at the Kennedy Center
  4. Attend the Cathedral Choral Society's Joy of Christmas concert at Washington National Cathedral
  5. Ride with Santa on a streetcar at the National Capital Trolley Museum in Silver Spring
  6. Participate in the Messiah sing-along at the Clarendon United Methodist Church in Arlington
  7. Take a child to the Chanukah Celebration at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington in Rockville
  8. Make your own holiday potpouri at the Claude Moore Colonial Farm in McLean
  9. Come to the 11 PM Christmas Eve service at Catoctin Presbyterian Church in Waterford and hear jheaton sing in the choir and read the liturgy
  10. Drive through the grounds of the Mormon Temple in Kensington to see the Christmas lights

hcwoodward wanted to see christmas lights mentioned in a list, which made me think of the elaborate display of lights put up each year at the Mormon Temple in Kensington. It's well worth a visit, if you happen to be in the area.
