They are the Great Lake Avengers, the guys who got the shortest end of the super-hero stick. But with the real Avengers disassembled, they're going to try to step up to the plate and deal with one of their most powerful villains! Can they save the day? Well, we just hope these guys can save themselves!
I thought this was really funny, but that's probably because I've wasted a lot of time over the years reading comic books. (In fact, I read the very first appearance of the Great Lakes Avengers way back in the day, when they were introduced as a joke in one of John Byrne's issues of West Coast Avengers. I missed the first appearance of Squirrel Girl though, so I was happy to see that story reprinted in the back of this volume.) If you're one of those people who is offended by the old Batman TV show because it doesn't take the characters seriously enough, you should certainly avoid GLA: Misassembled, but if you can appreciate a heaping helping of goofiness alongside your superhero action, you'll get a kick out of it.
