Last week I posted a list of ten Members of Congress who had served time in prison. One of the people included in that list was J. Irving Whalley (R-Pa.), but I have since learned that he never served time in prison. According to, he received a three-year suspended sentence for his crimes, which included using the U.S. mail to deposit staff salary kickbacks and threatening a would-be whistle-blower. I regret the error.
