Ten random things: November 3

Ten species of animal launched into space:

  1. Horsfield's Tortoise (Testudo horsfieldii)
  2. Roundworm (Caenorhabditis elegans)
  3. Mummichog (Fundulus heteroclitus heteroclitus)
  4. Cross spiders (Araneus diadematus)
  5. Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes)
  6. Bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana)
  7. Dog (Canis lupus familiaris)
  8. Medaka (Oryzias latipes)
  9. Rhesus monkey (Macaca mulatta)
  10. Guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus)

Animals were being launched into space as early as 1946, but it wasn't until 1957 that an animal—Laika, a bod—was launched into orbit. As yet, no armadillos have been sent into space, which is totally unfair. It's firm evidence of rampant dasypodidaism in the halls of NASA and he other space agencies
