pleasedOne race I'm particularly pleased about is the 2nd Congressional District of Iowa, where Democrat David Loebsack defeated the long-serving Republican incumbent Jim Leach. Loebsack is an acquaintance of mine; he's a professor of political science at my alma mater, Cornell College, and in 1991 I took Politics 101 with him. He's a nice guy, but very liberal. That he beat a moderate Republican like Leach speaks volumes about the mood of the electorate.
I may have more to say about all this later after I analyze the results, but for now I'll just say yay!
