Bethlehem of Judea
A little child,
A shining star,
A stable rude,
The door ajar.
Yet in that place,
So crude, forlorn,
The Hope of all
The world was born.

Here we have the poem I alluded to the other day, the one that was one word shorter than Tennyson's "Rise, Happy Morn." I admire the author's ability to retell the Nativity story so economically and yet so elegantly. It reminds me (warning: possibly fatuous comparison imminent!) of the first page of All-Star Superman no. 1, where Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely retold Superman's origin using just four panels and eight words.
