I haven't done one of these lyrics challenges in a while, so here are the first lines -- with a few exceptions -- of twenty songs. Or possibly twenty-one, if, unlike me apparently, you have not lost the ability to count. (In cases where the name of the song was in the first line, I chose another line as close to the beginning of the song as possible.) Your job is to identify the songs. But here's the catch: I compiled these lyrics while listening to a playlist that contained only cover songs and remakes. Bonus points if you can name both the original artist (or the artist who popularized it) and performer of the version I was listening to!
- "Go away from my window, leave at your own chosen speed"

- "The reason why oh I can't say, I had to let you go babe and right away" (EDITED! See this post for details)
- "I don't know what it is that makes me love you so"
- "My baby don't mess around because she loves me so and this I know for sure"
- "I know so many people who think they can do it alone"
