Ten random things: June 29

Ten foreign players selected in the National Basketball Association draft:

  1. Kyrylo Fesenko (Ukraine; drafted by Philadelphia, traded to Utah)
  2. Milovan Raković (Serbia; drafter by Dallas, traded to Orlando)
  3. Petteri Koponen (Finland; drafted by Philadelphia, traded to Portland)
  4. Marco Belinelli (Italy; drafted by Golden State)
  5. Giorgos Printezis (Greece; drafted by San Antonio, traded to Toronto)
  6. Brad Newley (Australia; drafted by Houston)
  7. Sun Yue (China; drafted by Los Angeles Lakers)
  8. Yi Jianlian (China; drafted by Milwaukee)
  9. Renaldas Seibutis (Lithuania; drafted by Dallas)
  10. Tiago Splitter (Brazil; drafted by San Antonio)

Yi Jianlian was the sixth player taken, making him the first foreign player selected in this year's draft. That is, the first foreign player playing overseas; Al Horford, selected third, is a native of the Dominican Republic, but he's lived most his life in the U.S., so I'm not sure he counts.
