Art on Sunday: Elements of a Light-Cavalry Armor

Italian (Milan)
Elements of a Light-Cavalry Armor, ca. 1510

A post in the TWoP Buffy forum inspired me to browse through the armor collection at the Met, and I was quite taken by this set, which is Italian but is designed in the German style. If you look closely, you can see some Latin text on the breastplate; my Latin is rusty, but I think it says, "If you can read this, you're too close." Haw! No, actually it says "Christ the King came in peace and God was made man."
