Ten Presidents of the United States I have trouble remember the order in which they served:
- James Garfield
- Grover Cleveland
- Franklin Pierce
- Calvin Coolidge
- Warren G. Harding
- Benjamin Harrison
- Woodrow Wilson
- Chester A. Arthur
- Rutherford B. Hayes
- William H. Taft
The other day we were discussing U.S. Presidents at work, and during the course of the conversation I took out a piece of paper and tried to list as many Presidents in order of service as I could. I got everyone except Franklin Pierce up through Ulysses S. Grant, and from Herbert Hoover on. I think if pressed I could have named all the Presidents between Grant and Hoover, but I had no clue as to the proper order. Tsk tsk. And shame on me for forgetting about Franklin Pierce altogether. Clearly, I need to read up on New Hampshire's favorite son. Unfortunately, my local library appears to be light on books about Mr. Pierce, so I'll have to remain in the dark until I can track something down through intralibrary loan.
