Advent 2008: O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

Hey, an actual Advent song! Advent, as you know, is the liturgical period imediatedly preceding Christmas, a time for reflection on Christ's coming (adventus means "coming" in Latin) and preparation for the celebration of His birth. Today's song, the well-known hymn "O come, O come, Emmanuel," the text of which is derived from Isaiah 7:14 ("Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.") This recording is by the contemporary Christian band Glad, but don't the CCM label scare you off; it's a very nice a capella arrangement featuring sophisticated harmonies and a lovely tenor lead.
