Advent 2008: Happy Holiday/The Holiday Season

Today's song is actually two, two, two songs in one: Andy Williams' medley of Irving Berlin's "Happy Holiday" and Kay Thompson's "The Holiday Season." Berlin wrote the former for the 1942 movie Holiday Inn, which also featured an obscure little song called "White Christmas." As for Kay Thompson, she is probably better known as the author of the Eloise books, but she does have a few other songwriting credits to her name. This medley is, I admit, kind of cheesy, but I think the songs work well together, and I love that liitle bit at the end when it returns to the Berlin song and Williams belts out "Happy holiday!" Good stuff.
