Inside joke

I decided to record C-SPAN's coverage of the Inaugural, and it kicked off in true C-SPAN style with a brief meeting of the House of Representatives. And it was pretty funny! Rep. Jerry Costello (D-Ill.) was the presiding officer, and after taking care of a few administrative matters, he announced that Members of Congress would be escorted to their seats on the Inaugural platform in order of seniority. For some reason this prompted a lot of loud chatter, and from somewhere off screen a loud voice was heard shouting, "Mr. Speaker, point of order! The procession should proceed alphabetically!" Costello, with excellent timing, waited a few beats and them proclaimed, "the gentleman from Hawaii is not recognized." See, the one shouting was Rep. Neil Abercrombie, whose name comes first in an alphabetical listing of Members of Congress. Funny!

Well, I thought so, anyway.
