The National Statuary Hall Collection in the United States Capitol is composed of 100 statues donated by individual states to honor persons notable in their history. Originally, the entire collection was housed in the old House of Representatives Chamber, but eventually it grew too large to be contained in one room, so it was scattered throughout the Capitol.
