Ten random things: July 14

Ten of pictures currently on my hard drive that I think are self-expressive:

  1. Dansko shoe ad

  2. Stone City by Grant Wood

  3. Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce

  4. Retail by Norm Feuti

  5. Badeend (Rubber Duck) by Florentijn Hofman

  6. Sally Forth by Marciuliano and Hamilton

  7. The Tumbling Weir in Ottery St. Mary, Devon

  8. Niece Libby and nephew Ikey take a nap together

  9. Facebook screenshot

  10. Paul Wellstone with a baby

Via elgoose, caerwynx, and fox1013 comes a meme that can double as a list of ten things. Here are the rules:

  • Post ten of any pictures currently on your hard drive that you think are self-expressive.
  • NO CAPTIONS!!! It must be like we're speaking with images and we have to interpret your visual language just like we have to interpret your words. (N.b.: I followed the rules about captions, but I did use alt-text for all the images, so if you have IE you'll be able to see them. I'm not going to sacrifice accessibility just because Microsoft doesn't want to build a browser that conforms to HTML standards.)
  • They must ALREADY be on your hard drive - no googling or flickr! They have to have been saved to your folders sometime in the past. They must be something you've saved there because it resonated with you for some reason.
  • You do NOT have to answer any questions about any of your pictures if you don't want to. You can make them as mysterious as you like. Or you can explain them away as much as you like.

That said, if you have any questions about the images, feel free to ask them in the comments.
