Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
"The jackals swarmed her as she stepped out into the late April afternoon. When Georgie had ducked into the perfume shop on Beverly Boulevard, only three of them had been stalking her, but now there were fifteen—twenty—maybe more—a howling, feral pack loose in L.A., cameras unsheathed, ready to rip the last bit of flesh from her bones."
p. 1, What I Did For Love by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Earlier this month, I read a blog post that mentioned a reading challenge: read a certain number of books this year that would fall outside your normal comfort zone. I picked up this romance novel on a recent trip to the library with that challenge in mind, though frankly it's not that far outside my zone, insofar as I've read two other books by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and rather enjoyed one of them (Match Me If You Can was the one I liked; the other was Natural Born Charmer, about which I was more indifferent than anything else). No complaints about this one yet, but I've only read one chapter so far.
