Ten random things: February 9

Ten consecutive blocks of time in the month of February during which I was on the clock:

  1. 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Feb. 1
  2. 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM, Feb. 2
  3. 9:00 PM to 11:59 PM, Feb. 2
  4. Midnight to 8:00 AM, Feb. 3
  5. 4:00 AM to 6:30 AM, Feb. 4
  6. Noon to 11:59 PM, Feb. 5
  7. Midnight to 11:59 PM, Feb. 6
  8. Midnight to 5:00 AM, Feb. 7
  9. 6:30 AM to 10 PM, Feb. 7
  10. 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Feb. 8

I had no idea when I agree to work on a snow removal crew this winter that I would be so busy. We've had two huge snow storms, with a third on the way, not to mention three other smaller snowfalls. In addition, the client frequently calls us out in the wee small hours of the morning to resalt the parking lots. (Not that they really need it, in the opinion of this former Chicagoan, but they didn't ask me.) Suffice to say I am thoroughly sick to death of snow and ice. The DC rarely gets much winter weather later than the end of February, so there are probably only a few more weeks of winter weather to endure before I'm done. And if there's one thing I learned in college, it's that you can put up with almost anything for three-and-a-half weeks.

The money helps too, of course. I get 30 dollars an hour, so just in the last eight days I've earned in excess of $3,000, and more than twice that since December. Not bad.
