Copy Plain Text might not sound like a tremendously useful extension, but it was a lifesaver during the time I was filing for unemployment benefits every week. I needed to keep track of the names, addresses, and phone numbers of all the businesses to which I applied. That information was easy enough to find on the web, and OpenOffice.org Calc helped me keep track of it all, but OO.o insisted on copying the HTML formatting along with the text, which offended my aesthetic sensibilities. Sure, I could just hold down the Shift key while hitting Ctrl-V, but I kept forgetting. Apparently someone else had a similar problem, as I was able to find the extension pretty easily, and it worked like a charm.
