One of the good things about not owning very much stuff is that even with only seven days to prepare, I've still had time to say goodbye. Wednesday I got to spend a couple of hours with selannia, whom some of you old-timers may remember, and with my oldest nephew. (I saw Selannia again this afternoon; she had offered to run me around if I had any errands to do, and I did.) Last night was my last choir rehearsal at my current church; they threw me a little going away party and gifted me with a $150 Target gift card. Tomorrow I'll be having lunch with my oldest nephew's mother, i.e. my brother's first wife, and Sunday morning before I leave I'll be stopping by my old church one last time.
It's sort of odd to realize every time I go somewhere that it may well be the last time I'm ever there. Not that I'm feeling particularly nostalgic about the Dulles Crossing Lowe's or the Sterling DMV, but still.
